The Nanoscopy Science Center (NSC) at Kuwait University, Faculty of Science, is recognized as the leading facility of its kind in Kuwait and the broader region. Established in 1976, the center has continuously evolved to provide state-of-the-art imaging and analytical capabilities, serving researchers, students, and professionals in various scientific disciplines.
Currently, the NSC is equipped with four advanced microscopes, enabling high-resolution imaging and in-depth material analysis:
Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), captures surface topography at the nanometre scale with precision.
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM Carryscope), Provides high-magnification surface imaging for a wide range of materials.
Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM) – Allows for detailed examination of ultra-thin specimens at the atomic level.
In addition to offering cutting-edge imaging and analytical services, the NSC is actively engaged in education and professional development. The center conducts specialized training programs, workshops, and hands-on sessions for students, researchers, and industry professionals. Furthermore, it plays a key role in community outreach by welcoming educational visits from public and private schools across Kuwait, fostering scientific curiosity and awareness among young learners.
